A personal note of joy:
In 2013 I was part of a 3-person exhibition in Chartres, France. One of my pieces sold, but I never knew to whom.
This week, during the gloom and uncertainty of the pandemic mess, I received a lovely surprise email (over 6 years later) from the collector of that work. The letter he wrote and photos he shared made my day/week/month. The mosaic has a wonderful home in Paris, France with a very kind collector.
The timing and contents of his email was such a glimmer of goodness and I'm grateful.

Fall 2019
Commission Installation: Honored to have been selected to create and install 2 large mosaic wall panels for the redesign of the lobby of a gorgeous synagogue in New York City's Upper West Side. Had the pleasure of working with wonderful architects and clients, along with hosting a few members of their congregation to set tesserae in the final areas of the panels.

Puerto Rico
Community Project: Sue was part of a team from The Chicago Mosaic School that traveled to Humacao, Puerto Rico, to install over 100 peace sign mosaics. The mosaics were created by artists from the mainland US and Puerto Rico; each mosaic included "tesserae" (mosaic pieces) made of terra cotta roof tiles that were destroyed during Hurricane Maria. The art installation is part of a larger public art emphasis in Humacao, bringing people, awareness, and rebuilding to the town and the island.

A full table is always fun! I was excited to have such full and lively groups at my recent workshops at CMS. My thanks to all the students who participated--the interactions in both the Andamento/Drawing class, as well as the Design Fundamentals for Mosaic workshops were lively and helpful to all. Looking forward to seeing what each of the students creates next!
